SSSART receive a generous gift from Keswick mountain rescue team.

14th of june 2014

On the 14th of June, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team leader Chris Higgins handed over the keys of the very low milage Defender 110 Land Rover to SSSARTs’ vehicle officer Ken Griffiths and Team Chairman Don Westley.
Because Keswick Mountain Rescue recently took delivery of two new Land Rover Defenders, they decided to offer two of the vehicle’s being replaced to fellow teams in the UK who weren’t financially able to purchase a new vehicle, SSSART were very lucky to be chosen to receive one.
The South Snowdonia Team will be passing their ageing 110 Land Rover (which is the oldest blue light vehicle in use by mountain rescue in the UK) on to Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team, carrying on with the spirit of passing vehicles on to other Mountain Rescue Teams, and Aberdyfi SART will pass their old Landrover to Norfolk Lowland SRT.
The new vehicle is currently being commissioned and re-liveried ready for it’s new life in South Snowdonia.

Many thanks Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, your generosity has lifted the spirit of SSSART.
