A dog rescue.

Call Out 25th October 2014

The team received a lunchtime call out to rescue a trapped dog. The dog had jumped over one of the parapets of the Llyn Trawsfynydd dam, and fallen some considerable distance, sliding down the slope of the dam into the, fortunately dry, spillway. The dog was trapped on the spillway and the only way to gain access was by lowering a team member down a vertical wall.

Once the owner had been reassured, a rope system was quickly set up and a team member lowered into the spillway to reach the dog. Fortunately it appeared relatively unscathed after its misadventure, and stood and walked to greet the team member. The dog was placed safely in a bag and was hoisted out of the Spillway by the team to be reunited with the owner. The rescuing team member was also hoisted out of the spillway, and once the rescue kit was packed away the team members made their way back to their Saturday
